Akros Numbers is an accounting and tax firm that operates from Panama, Central America, and serves exclusively US clients. We run our practice fully remotely with the assistance of local and American professionals in this field. Our strategic location provides us with an outstanding advantage compared to similar firms in Asian countries. We operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time, just as if we were in Florida or New York. Panama is the financial hub of Central America, so we have direct access to skilled local talent with expertise in the US market, exceptional English fluency, and very limited cultural differences with our American clients. Being located in Panama is advantageous because we don’t carry the high overhead of practices that operate in the USA, allowing us to charge fairer rates while still delivering top-class service. We can visit our clients, at an additional cost, at their offices in the USA up to 2 times a year, as flight connections are frequent and efficient. Our name comes from the Greek word “akros,” which means excellent, high, at the top. This word is reminiscent of the English “across,” giving our clients the idea that we provide an excellent service through the sharp, precise analysis of their numbers. Luciano Felicetti is the founder of Akros Numbers, established in 2025. He is an Italian accountant and entrepreneur with almost a decade of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and business management. Luciano holds a degree in Economics and Management (Insubria University, Italy) and has several certifications to practice as an accountant and tax specialist in the USA. He has been living in Panama, Central America, since 2017 and managed a successful business in the construction industry for almost 7 years. During this experience he had the opportunity to serve American clients overseas, and began engaging with US compliance platforms such as SAM.GOV and IRS.GOV. This mix of experience led him to understand that the American system was highly complex and full of opportunities for a skilled professional. In 2025 he closed his construction business and began preparing for this new venture, finding his first bookkeeping client within 2 months. Luciano now runs this successful practice from his office in Panama, travels frequently to the USA for educational purposes, and proudly serves American taxpayers and business owners.
<<When I was working as a construction business owner in Panama, I had the chance to meet several US citizens — the American community here is huge! One day, one of my US friends told me about the mix of fear and stress that tax season brings for them, and that she had a friend who was a tax practitioner and systematically disappeared every year for a couple of months during tax season, locking herself in her home office and working all day long. I also had a brief experience as a call center agent for a large American bank, and talking with hundreds of American citizens helped me understand even more deeply how important it is for them to be tax compliant — the filing of bankruptcy, credit score implications, and many other concepts that were totally new to me, but that made me fall in love, step by step, with the complex yet efficient financial system that helps run the United States. If there is one thing I love, it is giving a client peace of mind and making them feel that the money spent was truly worth it. I became an expert in accounting and taxes for the American market simply and honestly because I grew passionate about it throughout my professional experience in Panama — a place some call the 51st State. My practice is the only one in Central America, and probably one of the few in the world, that exclusively serves the United States market remotely. Most commercial accounting firms, particularly those in India and the Philippines, attempt to serve multiple markets simultaneously — the UK, Canada, the Emirates. I believe this approach does not make much sense and creates confusion both within the practice and in the minds of clients. The United States is large and complex enough on its own, and our goal is to provide a top-class service, not a cheap, low-level outsourced service. We focus 100% on the United States tax system and accounting rules. We are constantly reading IRS publications and circulars, studying and analyzing US GAAP through webinars and books, and working exclusively with US residents and US businesses. I am Luciano Felicetti, and I would be honored to serve you.>>
